Celtic have already suffered a major blow, having seen Ange Postecoglou leave the club in order to join Tottenham Hotspur. The Australian did a remarkable job at Parkhead, winning five trophies in two seasons, when the team that he had inherited in the summer of 2021 was coming off of a trophyless campaign and finished 25 points behind the Rangers.

Thus, Postecoglou leaving a huge loss for Celtic. One can only hope that the club are able to find someone who can fill his boots.

Celtic will want to avoid any more big exits as well. And it looks like they are taking steps in an attempt to make sure that their best players remain at the club beyond the summer.

As reported by Football Insider, Celtic have held early talks over a new contract for Kyogo in a bid to keep him at Parkhead this summer. Teams from the Premier League like Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace are believed to be interested in the Japanese forward as well as Serie A and Bundesliga clubs.

Of course, rumours have broken out recently that Postecoglou could be eyeing a reunion with Kyogo at Tottenham Hotspur as well. It was the Australian who was instrumental in bringing him to Parkhead, when nobody in Europe really knew who the Japanese forward was and he repaid that faith by becoming the best player in Scottish football.

Now, it remains to be seen what the future holds for Kyogo. Celtic cannot afford to let him go this summer.

Fortunately, Kyogo has spoken of his happiness in Glasgow as well. But at the same time, if a big opportunity from one of the top five leagues came around at 28 years of age, then one would expect him to consider it. That is modern football.
