Celtic appear to be searching far and wide for the manager who will replace Ange Postecoglou in the Parkhead hot seat. The Australian has left after two extremely successful seasons in order to join Tottenham Hotspur. We can only wish him the best and thank him for the job that he did. He did better than anybody could have expected when he arrived a couple of summers back.

It is time to move on though. And the most important thing for Celtic right now is to appoint a manager who can continue to improve this team.

Names like Graham Potter, David Moyes, Brendan Rodgers, Enzo Maresca and several others have been linked with the Celtic job. And now, it looks like a second division manager is under consideration as well.

As reported by the Daily Record, the Celtic board are looking at a number of options and one amongst them is Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna.

McKenna is certainly an interesting name to consider. On one hand, the drawback is clear. He has never managed at the top level. In fact, his Ipswich Town side managed to gain promotion from League One recently and next season will be the young manager’s first in the Championship.

Thus, one has to wonder how he would do under the pressure that comes with the Celtic job. On the other hand though, it is not hard to see why he might have caught the attention of the Hoops.

He has had coaching roles at Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur in the past. And his Ipswich Town side played brilliant attacking football last season. They scored 101 goals in League One, 19 more than any other. They were the best defensive team in the competition as well but somehow managed to finish second.
