Celtic have been handed a massive blow recently, with Ange Postecoglou leaving to join Tottenham Hotspur. The Australian had pretty much established himself as the face of the club and delivered five trophies in his two seasons in management. Thus, it comes as a major disappointment that he has left after just a couple of years.

This will be nothing new to Celtic fans though. Success at Parkhead often translates to a move down south. And after their charismatic manager, could a starter be headed to England as well?

Signing Matt O’Riley was one of the biggest masterstrokes of the Postecoglou Era. He was brought in from English third division side, MK Dons, and has shown his incredible quality at Parkhead.

That kind of form has seen him being linked with a move away as well. As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, O’Riley is attracting interest from England and Germany, with Brighton & Hove Albion being one of the clubs considering him for the summer.

If O’Riley was to leave Celtic in the summer, it would come as a major blow for the Hoops. But at the same time, it would not be a major surprise.

O’Riley has been linked with some of the biggest clubs in Europe in the past. Thus, if he was to leave, one would hope that Celtic are able to get a big transfer fee out of his departure.

This is starting to feel like a summer of change for Celtic in many ways. Unfortunately, that is the last thing you need coming off of a treble-winning campaign.

Other than O’Riley, the likes of Kyogo, Reo Hatate, Jota, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Liel Abada and a few others have been linked with moves away as well. It remains to be seen who the next manager of the club will be.
