Celtic fans were left heartbroken to see Ange Postecoglou join Tottenham Hotspur, days after leading the Hoops to a domestic treble. Most understood the reasoning behind the move, but it was still disappointing. And soon, the Australian could be attempting to take some of his former players to London as well.

The majority of the current Celtic squad was assembled during Postecoglou’s time at the club. Thus, it should come as no surprise if he wants to continue working with a few of them in the Premier League as well.

One could argue that Kyogo was the find of the Postecoglou Era at Celtic. He found the back of the net on 34 occasions in the 2022/23 season, topping the Premiership scoring charts while also scoring in both the League Cup and Scottish Cup final.

Of course, that sort of form will raise interest in his signature. As reported by The Scottish Sun, Postecoglou is set to spark a £20 million transfer race to sign Kyogo.

The best case scenario for Celtic would be Kyogo staying. And the Japanese player has talked about being happy in Glasgow as well.

At the same time though, a move to a club like Tottenham Hotspur would attract most players. It is also important to remember that Kyogo is 28 years of age. Thus, he does not have a lot of time left in his playing career, if he does want to get a big move.

Let’s see what the future holds. One would be hoping that Kyogo stays on at Celtic for years to come. If he does, then he has the chance to be a club legend. But then, the same things could have been said about Postecoglou as well. Hopefully things will work out differently when it comes to the Japanese international.
