A domestic treble resulted in a successful end to the 2022/23 campaign for Celtic this time. But now that the season is over, the club management will have to evaluate a number of things, including the uncertain future of Ange Postecoglou and as well as a number of their current players.

The future of Albian Ajeti puts forth an interesting point of discussion. The striker, who endured an underwhelming loan spell at Sturm Graz in the Austrian top flight this season, is soon set to make a comeback to Parkhead.

Sturm Graz will not exercise their option to sign Ajeti permanently. The Swiss striker has struggled to find form and has dealt with numerous injury setbacks throughout the season. Thus, it might time for Celtic to consider parting ways.

As reported by Football Insider, former Rangers player, Alan Hutton, said about the situation of Ajeti:

"“He is probably on a decent contract. They signed him for decent money and it has not really worked out.“He has had ample opportunities, has been out on loan, so it is a shame.“Going into the last year of his contract he needs to go and prove that he is capable. But whether the manager gives him that opportunity, I do not think so.“I think he has had enough chances in the team so I think they will try and cut their losses.“"

Despite his lacklustre performances, Ajeti still has one year remaining on his contract with Celtic. However, concerns regarding his ability to prove his worth at Parkhead persist.

Having failed to make a significant impact during his loan spell, Ajeti’s return to Celtic poses a challenge both for the player himself and the club. The Scottish Premiership side will need to assess the situation and decide whether to persist with the underperforming striker or explore alternative options to bolster their attacking prowess.

As Ajeti enters the fold again, the pressure will be on him to justify the faith placed in him by Celtic, overcome his injury concerns, and showcase the form that initially prompted his signing. Those with a keen memory will remember that the Swiss striker made a great start to life at Parkhead but has completely lost his way after that initial run of form.
