Favourite emerges to replace Ange Postecoglou at Celtic
Ange Postecoglou has been a fantastic manager for Celtic over the past two seasons. The club won an unexpected Premiership and League Cup double in his debut campaign, and could go one step better this time around by clinching a domestic treble. They have a Scottish Cup final against Inverness CT coming up this weekend.
The build up to that game has been clouded by the speculation around the future of Postecoglou though. Tottenham Hotspur are believed to have made him their number one managerial target and could open talks after the Scottish Cup final.
This is not the first time that Postecoglou has been linked with a move down south. The exit rumours are starting to gain momentum though, which has not been the case in the past. And it has left Celtic fans worried about the future.
Tottenham Hotspur are the calibre of club who could potentially tempt Postecoglou away from Celtic. In that scenario, the club will need to bring in a replacement. And one name seems to be emerging as the favourite.
Favourite emerges to replace Postecoglou at Celtic
As reported by The Scotsman, David Moyes has been installed as the early favourite to replace Postecoglou at Parkhead should he depart.
Of course, that will be the furthest thing on Moyes’ mind at the moment. He was successful in guiding West Ham United to safety, as they finished 14th in the Premier League, six points above the relegation zone.
West Ham United’s season is not over though. Moyes has the chance to deliver European glory for the Hammers, as they will be taking on Fiorentina in the final of the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Moyes started his playing career at Celtic. He has gotten most of his success in management though. The Hoops have been linked with him numerous times over the years. Could he end up at Parkhead if Postecoglou left?
