Ange Postecoglou has been linked with plenty of Premier League clubs in recent months as he continues to enjoy tremendous success at Celtic. The likes of Everton, Leeds United, Wolves, Chelsea and several others were all rumoured to hold an interest in the Australian. But the feeling is different when it comes to the recent links with Tottenham Hotspur.

The recent rumours linking Postecoglou with the Tottenham Hotspur job appear to be much more serious. And they continue to gain pace with every passing day.

There have been suggestions that Postecoglou has emerged as Tottenham Hotspur’s number one target for the job. And the Australian has not publicly ruled himself out of the running either although he has been adamant that he is focused on the upcoming Scottish Cup final

Celtic fans will be hoping that Postecoglou remains at Parkhead for the foreseeable future. But their hopes have been handed a blow in that regard.

As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham Hotspur have scheduled new round of talks with Postecoglou at the beginning of next week. He remains the leading candidate. Nothing is agreed yet though and the Premier League club have also discussed Luis Enrique again internally this week.

Let’s see what the future holds for Postecoglou. These Tottenham Hotspur rumours continue to pick up pace though and that will leave Celtic fans worried.

If Postecoglou was to leave, then Celtic will have a tough time replacing him. On one hand, the Australian has been immensely successful in the role, winning a double last season and is on the verge of a treble this time around with the Scottish Cup final. On the other hand, the majority of this squad has been assembled by him. So, it will be difficult for another manager to come in in the summer and get the best out of them.
