Celtic are getting ready to take on Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the Scottish Cup final this weekend. But the majority of the talk this week has been dominated by the future of Ange Postecoglou, who has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur and is believed to be the Premier League club’s number one managerial target.

Celtic fans will be hoping that Postecoglou remains at the club beyond this campaign. But the recent rumours have not been positive in this regard, and will have left them worried.

Postecoglou has been incredibly successful since arriving at Celtic and could win his fifth trophy for the Hoops this weekend with the Scottish Cup. But his run at Parkhead might come to a close soon after that.

As reported by The Scottish Sun, Postecoglou could be confirmed as the new Tottenham Hotspur manager as early as next week. Celtic are resigned to losing the Australian and have already started looking for a replacement for him.

Celtic fans will be hoping for all of this to be just paper talk. But the rumours linking Postecoglou with the Tottenham Hotspur job have certainly picked up some serious momentum over the past few days and all signs seem to be pointing towards him ending up in England.

It is not hard to see why the Tottenham Hotspur job might attract Postecoglou. They are part of the traditional Big Six in the Premier League and opportunities like this might not come around many more times for the 57-year-old.

At the same time, there are a lot of cons to the Tottenham Hotspur job. They have not won a trophy in over a decade and even managers like Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho could not change that. Also, Postecoglou will be risking a lot by leaving behind what he has built at Celtic.
