Celtic’s squad is pretty stacked at the moment and there are not too many positions where they need to make big changes. One area of the pitch which could be in need of a bit of a shake up in the summer is goalkeeper though. Joe Hart is the current number one for the Hoops but many have criticised some of his performances this season and questioned whether he should hold the first-team gloves for another campaign.

That is certainly one position where Celtic can get better. And they might have the perfect opportunity this summer to sign a player from Real Madrid in order to fill that need.

Andriy Lunin has been highly rated at Real Madrid for a long time and he is currently the cover for Thibaut Courtois. But his chances of becoming the club’s number one anytime soon are slim to none, with the Belgian being most probably the best goalkeeper in the world right now.

As a result, Lunin is rumoured to be on his way out in the summer. And with his contract running out in the summer of 2024, Real Madrid are not expected to stand in his way either.

Someone like Lunin could be a solid addition for Celtic. He certainly has the talent to be a big success at Parkhead.

Also, at 24 years of age, he can be the number one for a long time to come if he is able to establish himself as the club’s first-choice.

There is not expected to be any lack of interest in the signature of Lunin though. And it will also be interesting to see what kind of transfer fee Real Madrid would look for in order to part ways with him. Celtic should keep an eye on the situation though.
