Trophy Day saw Celtic lift the Premiership title for the second straight season. They still have a lot more to play for though and do not have much time to celebrate. Next weekend, they will face Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the Scottish Cup final. It is also an opportunity for Ange Postecoglou’s side to do the treble.

Celtic took care of some of the worries around their form with a 5-0 win over Aberdeen. Kyogo and Oh Hyeon-gyu both scored a brace each, while Carl Starfelt found the back of the net as well.

Thus, it was a terrific result for Celtic. At the same time though, the game came with a few worries as well, mainly the injuries that they picked up on the day.

One of the players who was forced off the pitch was Alistair Johnston. The Canadian international was only returning from an issue, and thus, fans were left worried by the situation for sure. Especially with the Scottish Cup final only a week away. There is some good news regarding his situation though.

As reported by the Daily Record, Postecoglou said about the situation of Johnston after the game against Aberdeen:

"“He felt his injury lock but I didn’t think we’d get 90 minutes out of him today anyway. He was brilliant for the time he was on so, again, we’ll assess it. But watching him jump around the dressing-room afterwards, they all seem OK.”"

Johnston did take part in the post-match celebrations and appeared to be moving quite well. Thus, it feels like his change might have been a precautionary move and will give a lot of relief to the supporters. Celtic have not looked like the same side when he has not played.

That is a testament to the quality of Johnston. Not only did he become a Celtic player in January but was handed the unenviable task of filling the boots of Josip Juranovic. Many players would have wilted under that pressure but he has risen to the plate, and might have even improved the team at right-back. Hopefully he is available to feature in the Scottish Cup final against Inverness CT.
