Ange Postecoglou has been a mega success at Celtic. When he arrived in the summer of 2021, he was pretty much an unknown in the European game, and most fans were uncertain about the appointment. The Australian has proven himself since then though. The Hoops won an unexpected Premiership and League Cup double last season, and will be looking to complete the treble this time around, when they face Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the Scottish Cup final.

That kind of success has led to Postecoglou being constantly linked with a move away from Parkhead. Clubs like Everton, Leeds United, Brighton & Hove Albion and several others have been linked with him in the past.

This time around, it is Tottenham Hotspur who seem to be looking at Postecoglou as their potential next manager. And the rumours have understandably left the fans worried.

As reported by the Daily Record, Tottenham Hotspur are preparing to make their move for Postecoglou. They are readying an offer to tempt the manager to the Premier League.

Tottenham Hotspur make decision about Celtic boss

There is no doubt that Tottenham Hotspur are a big club. It is the type of team which would allow someone like Postecoglou to compete for a top four spot in the Premier League.

At the same time though, one cannot overlook how things have turned out for their previous managers. Proven winners like Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte have failed to deliver at Tottenham Hotspur and been quickly shown the exit door.

Thus, there would be a big risk involved if Postecoglou made the move to Tottenham Hotspur. For all his success over the years, his name does not carry the same weight as that of Mourinho or Conte.

Let’s see what the future holds. It is very possible that Postecoglou could decide to remain at Celtic and make a push in the Champions League next season. At the same time though, one has to recognise that he is in his mid 50s and does not have a lot of time to meet all his managerial goals. So, if he did consider an offer from a club like Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the season, it would be understandable.
