It is time to celebrate for Celtic fans, as the club lifted the Premiership title on Trophy Day. It was their second straight league title under the management of Ange Postecoglou and they capped it off in style with a 5-0 win over Aberdeen. The campaign does not end here for the Hoops though, as they will be competing for the Scottish Cup, and a treble, next weekend against Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Normally, the only thing on the minds of Celtic fans on Trophy Day would be the league title. And yet, a lot of the recent headlines have been about the future of Postecoglou.

Tottenham Hotspur are rumoured to have made Postecoglou their number one target to be the club’s next manager. That has left Celtic fans worried and understandably so. After the job that the Australian has done at Parkhead, they do not want to see him leave anytime soon.

Thus, many were left looking for clues in Postecoglou’s Trophy Day speech. There were not any to be found though. On the other hand, it looks like Celtic are making their own plans to make sure that he remains at the club.

Celtic are readying record offer for Postecoglou

As reported by Football Insider, Celtic are planning to make Postecoglou the best-paid manager in their history to stop him leaving the club in the summer.

It remains to be seen how things play out. It goes without saying that the chance to manage Tottenham Hotspur is a big one for any manager.

But at the same time, Postecoglou has a great thing going at Celtic. Not only is he competing for trophies every season but he has the chance to manage in the Champions League as well. On top of that, he is absolutely adored by the supporters. If he joined Tottenham Hotspur, he would have to prove himself all over again. And just look at how things turned out for the likes of Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte there.
