Celtic lifted the Premiership title for the second straight season under the management of Ange Postecoglou and they did it in style with a 5-0 win over Aberdeen on Trophy Day. Next weekend, they will go for a treble when they take on Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the Scottish Cup final. Nobody could have foreseen this kind of success when the Australian manager arrived in the summer of 2021.

Back then, Celtic were in a terrible position. They were coming off of a trophyless 2020/21 campaign, and had finished 25 points behind the Rangers in the league. Postecoglou has completely transformed that team into one of the best Scottish football has ever seen.

Of course, that kind of remarkable success has seen him being linked with a move away. And with Tottenham Hotspur rumours ramping up, a lot of fans have been left worried.

Thus, many people would have listening to his Trophy Day speech with a magnifying glass in hand, searching for any clues about his future. And while Postecoglou did not drop any, he did take a superb dig at Rangers manager, Michael Beale.

While speaking to the fans before lifting the trophy, Postecoglou said:

"“Champions again, because I am a lucky man.”"

Of course, Beale had created controversy in the past by calling Postecoglou ‘lucky’. The Australian manager did get his back on the perfect occasion, with his team lifting the Premiership trophy.

The season is not over for Celtic though. They still have the Scottish Cup final coming up, and one eye must have surely been on that occasion, even as they celebrated their latest league triumph.

A lot has been made about their recent form, but the 5-0 win over Aberdeen will surely build up some positive momentum before the Scottish Cup final. What does the future hold for Postecoglou amidst the rumours? Only time shall tell.
