A lot has been made of Celtic’s form, or lack of it, in recent weeks. This weekend will be one of celebration no matter what the result is though, as Ange Postecoglou’s side will lift the Premiership title for the second straight season. They will be welcoming Aberdeen to Parkhead on the day.

Of course, Trophy Day is always a special occasion and one can rest assured that the fans will put on a spectacle. Hopefully, the players will end the campaign with a win as well.

Many have felt that the players have taken their foot off the gas after clinching the Premiership title against Hearts away at Tynecastle Park. The Trophy Day does demand and inspire a big performance though. And hopefully we will get one from the Bhoys.

The Hoops have made a superb announcement before the big day as well. As tweeted out by the club’s official account, we will be joined on The Celtic Way by Martin O’Neill, who will lead the Bhoys back to the stadium with the silverware as part of the pre-match Trophy Day celebrations.

Of course, occasions like these do not come around often. So, the fans, the players, the coaching staff and everybody associated with the club should take every minute of it in.

The season does not stop for Celtic on Trophy Day though. They still have a Scottish Cup, and a treble, to compete for.

Celtic will take on Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the Scottish Cup final next month at Hampden Park. It goes without saying that Postecoglou’s side will be the favourites against the Championship side. But at the same time, the Hoops’ terrible run of form will give the opposition hope. Let’s hope the team can build up some momentum with a win over Aberdeen.
