Celtic’s recent form has been a cause for worry heading into the Scottish Cup final. They have won only one of their last five league games. Their latest blow came at the hands of Hibernian, who defeated them 4-2. Now, there is just one more game, against Aberdeen, before they take to the Hampden Park pitch to face Inverness Caledonian Thistle, with a treble up for grabs.

Many fans have felt that the players have taken their foot off the gas after securing the league title, away at Tynecastle Park against Hearts. That is not great preparation for the Scottish Cup final.

The recent announcement should lift the mood of the fans a bit. We have learned the identity of the second team that will be taking on Celtic on their Japan Tour in the summer.

As reported by the club’s official website, Celtic will take on Gamba Osaka at the Panasonic Stadium Suita on July 22. Of course, they are also scheduled to play Yokohama F. Marinos on July 19 at the Nissan Stadium.

Celtic have grown in popularity in Japan following their appointment of Ange Postecoglou as manager and the arrival of a number of Japanese players as well. At the moment, the Hoops have the likes of Kyogo, Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate, Yuki Kobayashi and Tomoki Iwata.

They also have Yosuke Ideguchi out on loan, as he failed to settle in at Parkhead. Interestingly, they had signed him from Gamba Osaka in January of last year.

Celtic are also expected to bring in more players from Japan in the summer. On the other hand, they will also be heading to South Korea as part of their pre-season. The Hoops signed South Korean international, Oh Hyeon-gyu, from Suwon Samsung Bluewings earlier this year in order to replace Giorgos Giakoumakis.
