Celtic claim made amid Ange Postecoglou to Tottenham rumours
Ange Postecoglou has led Celtic to another Premiership triumph. Under his management, the Hoops have won consecutive league titles and are on the brink of completing a domestic treble should they defeat Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the final of the Scottish Cup at Hampden Park next month.
The manager’s recent success in the domestic competitions has not only inspired the Parkhead faithful but also attracted the eyes of clubs on the lookout for a new coach. Postecoglou is believed to be one of the candidates in the running for the Tottenham Hotspur job.
Tottenham Hotspur have been without a permanent boss since the departure of Antonio Conte. And it is a big job without doubt. One that would attract most managers in the game.
Would Postecoglou leave the club in the summer in order to join the London club? Frank McAvennie does not appear to believe so.
Celtic claim made amid Postecoglou to Tottenham rumours
As reported by Football Insider, McAvennie said regarding the situation and future of Postecoglou:
"“I think he is there for a couple of years.“Getting the treble is a huge feat, doing it at any club, so that is what he will be wanting to do. He wants to take this club to the Champions League and make an impact like we used to.“We beat Barcelona, Real Madrid in the past and he will want to do that again.“He will want to make Celtic Park this great fortress that people don’t want to come to.“"
While the 57-year-old Australian might leave the Glasgow side in the future, it might be a mistake for Postecoglou to leave a Champions League club like Celtic for a team like Tottenham Hotspur, who will not be playing in the respective competition next season.
Celtic fans would love their manager to stay in charge. However, in the era of uncertainty, it would be interesting to see whether Postecoglou finds a new dugout ahead of the next campaign. Only time shall tell.
All the comments that Postecoglou has made in recent times appear to suggest that he sees his immediate future at Celtic. And that would be great news for the Hoops. The Australian has done a remarkable job since arriving in Glasgow. Hopefully, he will remain at Parkhead for the foreseeable future.
