Kyogo Furuhashi has been Celtic’s star man over the past couple of seasons. When he arrived at the club, he was not a household name in the European game and many were unsure whether he would be able to cope with the physicality of the Premiership. It is Scottish football that has struggled to keep up with the Japanese player though, as his movement and eye for the back of the net have made him a goal machine for the Hoops.

Unsurprisingly, he has been heavily linked with a move away from Parkhead as well. And a number of clubs from the Premier League appear to be keeping an eye on him.

Of course, that will worry Celtic fans. Other than Kyogo, they do not have a proven striker. Oh Hyeon-gyu was brought in in January and while he has showed flashes of brilliance, he still has a lot to prove in the Scottish game before he can even start challenging for the starting spot.

Amidst all the rumours, there is some positive news for the Hoops though. As reported by Football Insider, Kyogo is “very happy” at Celtic.

Of course, things can change very quickly in professional football. If a big offer arrived for him in the summer, then one would expect Kyogo to give it a consideration.

It is great news though that he is very happy at Celtic. That certainly raises his chances of staying on at the club beyond this campaign.

If Kyogo was to leave, Celtic would have a very tough time replacing him. His output has simply been magnificent, as he scooped up the PFA Scotland Players’ Player of the Year award. According to stats from Transfermarkt, the Japanese player has scored 31 goals and provided 5 assists in 47 appearances across all competitions this season.
