Celtic reportedly in contact with 13-goal American striker
Celtic have a fantastic striker right now in the form of Kyogo Furuhashi, who has found the back of the net a superb 31 times this season till now and is showing no signs of stopping. On the other hand, the Hoops brought in Oh Hyeon-gyu from Suwon Samsung Bluewings in January and while he has a lot of room for improvement, the talent and potential is clear to see in the South Korean international.
The Hoops recently scored their 107th goal of the league campaign. Thus, they are not lacking goals. At the same time though, their finishing did let them down in the Champions League earlier on in the campaign.
Also, with Giorgos Giakoumakis leaving earlier this year, their options up front are limited. As a result, it would not be a major surprise if the club end up going for another striker this summer. And it looks like they do have one in their sights.
As reported by Fussball Europa, Eduvie Ikoba is quite sought after. There is a constant exchange with the Scottish champions Celtic and the French first division club FC Toulouse. VfB Stuttgart want to sign him as well.
Celtic are in contact to sign 13-goal striker
Thus, Ikoba looks like a striker in demand and seems to have impressed clubs all around Europe. Celtic have been very good when it comes to identifying talent in recent times.
Now, it remains to be seen if they are able to move ahead of the competition and sign Ikoba in the near future. He surely won’t have any lack of options.
Ikoba currently plays for Hungarian club, Zalaegerszeg. This is his second spell there. According to stats from Transfermarkt, the American striker has scored 13 goals and provided 2 assists in 33 appearances across all competitions in the ongoing campaign.
