Celtic are heading for an interesting summer transfer window. The club will be in the UEFA Champions League group stage once again. Last time around, they put in some very good performances in the competition but could not produce the required results and finished bottom of their group.

Celtic were let down by their finishing in the Champions League. Since then, Giorgos Giakoumakis has left the club and has been replaced by Oh Hyeon-gyu.

Oh has put in some promising performances since arriving in Glasgow this January. But overall, it is quite clear that he is pretty much a raw talent at the moment and has a lot of room for improvement.

Kyogo Furuhashi has been splendid this season, scoring more than 30 goals. At the same time though, the club could definitely do with another option up front this season. And it remains to be seen if they end up signing a striker.

One player that Celtic have been heavily linked with in recent weeks is Levi Garcia. The Trinidad and Tobago international has been superb this season for AEK Athens and that has led to a number of clubs being linked with him. The Hoops are believed to be amongst the teams interested in him. But it looks like Lyon could deal them a blow.

As reported by Homme Du Match (via Daily Record), Lyon have launched an “ambitious” bid to land Garcia, next season. The French Ligue 1 side are “determined” to get the deal done.

It remains to be seen if Lyon end up signing Garcia. There is plenty of interest in his signature. And some rumours have suggested that it will take a transfer fee close to €15 million in order to sign the Trinidad and Tobago striker from AEK Athens.
