Celtic supporters want regular starter to be dropped

Celtic have already clinched the Premiership title and they do not have much left to play for this season, other than the Scottish Cup final against Inverness CT. Their performances in the league lately have raised quite a few eyebrows though, as it has felt like a number of their players have checked out and are not putting in their best performances.

Their defence lately has been the biggest worry. With both Alistair Johnston and Cameron Carter-Vickers out of action, it is safe to say that Celtic have struggled at the back.

Over the last four league games, they have managed only one win. And their latest one ended in a 2-2 draw at home to St Mirren.

It is safe to say that fans were not happy with another under par performance for the Hoops. And one player that they were particularly unimpressed with was Joe Hart.

Celtic supporters want regular starter to be dropped

Several Celtic fans took to social media to ask for Hart to be dropped and for the club to sign a new goalkeeper in the summer. It remains to be seen if that will end up happening or not.

It is safe to say that Celtic fans have questioned the performances of Hart for a while now. And he was nowhere near his best against St Mirren.

Let’s see if Celtic do end up signing another goalkeeper in the summer. Recent rumours have suggested that they have handed a new deal to Scott Bain, who is only cover right now. That might suggest that the club are looking to stick with Hart as their number one for another season.

Interestingly, Celtic have conceded 30 goals in the league this season till now, with two more games to go. That is more than the number of goals that they have conceded in the 2020/21 campaign.
