Celtic are set to be crowned as champions of Scotland once again and they will be looking to complete the domestic treble, when they come up against Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the Scottish Cup final next month. Yet, a lot of fans have been left disappointed with some of their recent performances.

They have only won once over their past four Premiership games. That run includes a 3-0 defeat at the hands of the Rangers away at Ibrox and two draws, with the latest one being at home against St Mirren.

Those results have raised some questions ahead of the Scottish Cup final. On the other hand, some critics have even started to raise the prospect of a tough title race next season.

Ange Postecoglou has sent a clear message about his team amidst their somewhat disappointing run of form in the league, drawing an analogy from boxing. As reported by BBC, the Celtic manager said:

"“We’re champions. I get it that people are so obsessed. The heavyweight champion of the world doesn’t have to win every round but he holds the belt. We hold the belt. People can try and write narratives.”"

That is very true. A boxer does not have to win every round in order to be crowned champion. Celtic have already gotten over the line in the title race and now, they can afford to cruise for a bit.

At the same time though, fans would have been hoping to see them finish the league season strong. That way, they would have gone into the Scottish Cup final with some much needed momentum on their side as well.

Celtic still have two league games to go, against Hibernian and Aberdeen. Let’s just hope that they can finish the league campaign with a couple of wins and go into the Scottish Cup final against Inverness CT riding high on form and confidence. While the Hoops are heavy favourites, they cannot make the mistake of taking the Championship side lightly ahead of their Hampden Park showdown.
