Celtic have recruited brilliantly during the time of Ange Postecoglou as the manager of the club. And you would hope that that would continue this summer, as the club are heading for another Champions League group stage campaign and will look to defend their Premiership title once again.

The Hoops have a stacked squad at this point of time. But if there is one area on the pitch where they might need to improve, it is goalkeeper.

Joe Hart has done a great job since arriving at Parkhead. But at the same time, one has to admit that he is not a long-term solution between the posts and Celtic will need to start searching for his successor as soon as possible.

One player that Celtic have been linked with in recent times is Liverpool’s number two, Caoimhin Kelleher. He is a brilliant goalkeeper in his own right but has struggled to get ahead of Alisson Becker in the pecking order, and there have been suggestions that he could be looking for a way out in the summer.

Celtic’s hopes of signing Kelleher in the summer have been handed a blow though. As reported by the Daily Record, Jurgen Klopp said:

"“Caoimh Kelleher? What’s happening with Kelleher? He has a contract. You want us to say goodbye (to Adrian) just in case?“Honestly, I can’t see Caoimh leaving. It must be an extraordinary offer for me to start thinking, I have to say.”"

Thus, it looks like Liverpool want to keep the player at the club beyond this season and it is not hard to understand why. He is brilliant cover between the posts to Alisson. And thus, it looks like Kelleher will be staying on at Anfield.

On the other hand, it remains to be seen what Celtic will do about their goalkeeping situation. It looks like Scott Bain has signed a contract extension with the Hoops, which suggests that they might be sticking with Hart for another season and that the Englishman will remain the number one.
