Celtic have enjoyed a great season and will have the chance to win a treble when they take to the Hampden Park pitch next month against Inverness Caledonian Thistle. At the same time though, the Hoops will know the importance of not standing still and must continue to strengthen their squad.

They have a Champions League group stage campaign coming up as well. And if there has been one shortcoming during the time of Ange Postecoglou as the manager of the club, it has been their results in Europe.

One player that they have been linked with in recent times is Levi Garcia. The Trinidad and Tobago international currently plays for AEK Athens and is enjoying a superb campaign with them. That seems to have earned him the transfer interest of several clubs across Europe, including Celtic. But it looks like the potential fee to sign him will be a problem for the Hoops.

As tweeted out by Giannis Chorianopoulos, AEK Athens will not consider any offer for Garcia, for less than €15 million.

Let’s see how things play out over the coming weeks and months. But it feels very unlikely that Celtic would shatter their transfer record in order to sign Garcia from AEK Athens.

He is enjoying a great campaign without doubt. But that is a huge fee for a club like Celtic, especially when you consider that he is not proven in Scottish football and might not even be a starter.

Thus, do not expect to see Garcia in a Celtic jersey come next season. That does not mean that the club could not sign another striker though. In fact, they have been linked with a few other names in recent times and some might even have a higher ceiling than the AEK Athens star.
