Celtic want to sign brilliant Manchester City winger
Celtic have recruited brilliant in recent times and have reaped the benefits on the pitch. Ange Postecoglou’s side will be looking to win their fifth trophy in two seasons, when they take to the Hampden Park pitch next month to face Championship side, Inverness Caledonian Thistle, in the Scottish Cup final.
Of course, that kind of success has seen several of Celtic’s players being linked with moves away. One such player is Liel Abada.
Abada might not be a nailed on starter right now but he has been a key player for this team nonetheless, since arriving in the summer of 2021. And if the Israeli international was to leave, the club would need to replace him.
Coincidentally, a very interesting and exciting rumour has been doing the rounds on Celtic fan forums recently. It has been suggested that the club are looking to sign Carlos Borges from Manchester City.
Celtic want to sign brilliant Manchester City winger
Borges is just 19 years of age and he has been putting up incredible numbers at the developmental levels for Manchester City. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 29 goals and provided 18 assists in 33 appearances this season.
While success at the youth and developmental levels does not always translate to the senior game, there is zero doubt that those are extraordinary numbers. He has also represented Portugal at multiple youth levels.
But despite that, Borges is yet to make his debut for Manchester City at the senior level. And no matter how good he is, he will have a tough time getting regular minutes in Pep Guardiola’s side.
Celtic might be the perfect place for someone like Borges to develop though. He appears to have only a year left on his deal at Manchester City and one would hope that the left winger has taken notice of what a move to Parkhead has done for the career of Jota.
