Celtic have been brilliant when it comes to signing players in recent times. As a result, they have built up a squad, that is on the verge of winning a treble this season. The upcoming summer transfer window could be interesting for the club though. As a result of the success that they have enjoyed on the pitch, a number of their players are being linked with moves away from Parkhead.

With another Champions League group stage campaign coming up, the club need to make sure that they keep hold of their best players. But at the same time, it would not be a major surprise if some of them leave. Celtic fans are used to that happening.

One player who has been linked with a move to the Premier League is Reo Hatate. The Japanese midfielder has been a standout for Celtic ever since arriving in early 2022.

And there seems to be some interesting news surrounding his current deal. As reported by Football Insider, Hatate has a release clause in his Celtic contract.

It is unclear what the figure is in his release clause. If it is anything other than a top figure, the club should try and agree a new contract with Hatate.

The Japanese midfielder has been a key player for the club ever since he has arrived, been a part of some big moments and it is hard to think of a Celtic starting XI without him. Thus, one can only hope that Hatate remains at Parkhead for the foreseeable future.

Brighton & Hove Albion are a club who have been linked with him recently though. And if Hatate was to leave, hopefully Celtic will get a big transfer fee out of his exit. Let’s see what the future holds for him.
