Todd Cantwell is no stranger to making controversial claims regarding Celtic. As a result, he has already built up quite the reputation for himself amongst the Parkhead support, despite arriving in Glasgow just earlier this year from Norwich City. And it does not look like the Rangers player has any intentions of changing things, heading into the final Glasgow Derby of the season, set to be played at Parkhead this weekend.

In terms of the title race, there is nothing riding on the result of the game at Ibrox. Celtic have already been crowned champions of Scotland following their win over Hearts last weekend.

But when it comes to pride, there will always be a lot of that riding on the result of any Glasgow Derby. As a result, do not expect either side to take things lightly when they take to the Ibrox pitch at the weekend.

One of the big talking points heading into this game has been a potential guard of honour from the Rangers players to Celtic, following their Premiership triumph. To be honest, it was never expected to happen. And Cantwell has now given his take on the matter.

Cantwell makes controversial Celtic claim again

As reported by Football Scotland, Cantwell said regarding a guard of honour:

"“Do I think it should happen? To be honest with the rivalry I can’t imagine them doing that for us. I don’t know but I can’t imagine it has happened, so I would probably suggest it wouldn’t.”"

If the shoe was on the other foot, it is very probable that Celtic would not give the Rangers a guard of honour either. That is not something that you expect one of the opposition players to suggest publicly though.

Especially someone like Cantwell, who has caused controversy in the past with some of his takes. One would have expected him to say clear of such matters heading into this Glasgow Derby. And instead, it looks like he has found a way back into the headlines, but not for positive reasons.
