The build up to the upcoming Glasgow Derby has been a bit strange to be honest. The usual nerves just are not there for Celtic fans, the Hoops have already sealed the Premiership title. Now, they are playing to break some all-time records in the league and to maintain their momentum ahead of the Scottish Cup final. At the same time, every match against the Rangers is a must not lose in its own way.
For the Rangers, it is their last chance to get a win over Celtic this season. They have lost four and drawn one till now.
Of course, Celtic will want to finish the season undefeated against the Rangers. Let’s see how things play out at Ibrox. Hopefully the Hoops will put in a top performance, in the absence of the usual pressure.
Celtic appear to have been handed a fresh injury problem ahead of the Glasgow Derby though, as it looks like Aaron Mooy is a doubt to face the Rangers. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, Ange Postecoglou said in his press conference:
"“Aaron Mooy is a little bit touch and go for tomorrow. He’s just a bit sore from a couple of things so we’ll see how he is.”"
Postecoglou confirms new Celtic injury problem before facing the Rangers
Mooy arrived at Celtic in the summer and some eyebrows were raised at the move. Many considered it as a step in the sideward direction for the Hoops, who had seen Tom Rogic and Nir Bitton depart the club.
But Mooy has proven himself to be a key player for the club through the course of the campaign. While he might’ve been out of the starting XI lately, he remains an important option to bring off the bench and see out games.
Thus, one can only hope that Mooy is able to recover in time to feature against the Rangers. Celtic could do with every option they can get, in their aim to finish the season undefeated against the Ibrox club.
