Celtic have a fantastic squad at this point of time. But the Hoops have never stopped strengthening during the time of Ange Postecoglou as manager of the club. One would expect the same in the upcoming summer transfer window as well, especially when they have another Champions League campaign coming up.

At the same time, several of Celtic’s players have been linked with moves away in the summer. One such player is Liel Abada.

Curiously, the Hoops are being linked with a right winger amidst the Abada exit rumours. As reported by the Daily Record, Celtic have been linked with Colombian international Diego Valoyes.

Valoyes currently plays for Argentine side, Talleres. He has also represented the Colombian national team. And it looks like he has caught the eye of Celtic’s scouts. It is worth pointing out that the club did signing Alexandro Bernabei from Lanus last summer.

One Colombian international looks set to leave Glasgow this summer in the form of Alfredo Morelos. Could another one be coming in but to play for the Hoops instead? Only time shall tell.

If Celtic do end up signing Valoyes from Talleres, it would be an interesting move to say the least. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 2 goals and provided 3 assists in 12 appearances this season till now.

Valoyes is 26 years of age. As a result, Celtic would not be getting a prospect but instead, an international player about to enter his prime as a footballer. And maybe that’s exactly what they need in the Champions League.

Valoyes seems like someone who would fit into Postecoglou’s style of football quite well. He has pace, trickery, the ability to get past his defender, a penchant for a moment of brilliance and can pop up with a goal here and there as well.
