Having enjoyed a lot of success under the management of Ange Postecoglou over the past two seasons, Celtic are heading for an interesting summer transfer window. On one hand, it is clear that they need to strengthen with another Champions League group stage campaign coming up. On the other hand though, several of their players have been linked with moves away from Parkhead, thanks to their performances.

Thus, it will be important to keep an eye on players who arrive at Celtic as well as leave in the summer. On the other hand, some former stars will be drawing the interest of the fans too.

One such player is Jeremie Frimpong. The Dutchman left in early 2021 to join Bayer Leverkusen. Now, he could be set for another move, with some of the biggest clubs in Europe rumoured to hold an interest in his signature.

As tweeted out by Alfredo Martinez, Frimpong is one name that was considered in a recent meeting between Barcelona and his agents.

Frimpong was signed by Celtic as a teenager, from Manchester City. Only a few months later, he was able to establish himself as a starter. His stint at the club was not too long and a season-and-a-half later, he left for Bayer Leverkusen.

Frimpong has established himself as one of the brightest young talents in the Bundesliga during his time at Bayer Leverkusen. And Barcelona are not the only club rumoured to be interested in the Dutchman.

The likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid are also believed to be keeping an eye on Frimpong. And all this interest is good news for Celtic.

Celtic are believed to have a sell-on clause in the deal for Frimpong. With so many big clubs after his signature, it would not be a surprise if it takes a transfer fee around €50 million to sign him.
