The mood around Parkhead has been joyous this week, with the club sealing the Premiership title last weekend against Hearts away at Tynecastle Park. And the good news keeps coming for the Hoops. There are now suggestions of a potentially stunning international call-up for one of the club’s youngsters.

Alexandro Bernabei may not yet be a regular starter for the Hoops, but he has been making good progress since he signed from Argentinian side, Lanus, last summer for a transfer package believed to be around £3.75 million.

With Greg Taylor in great form and ahead of him in the pecking order, Bernabei continues to provide useful cover at left-back. And he may well expect a few more appearances in the last four league matches of the season, now that the fate of the title is already sealed.

His performances have not gone unnoticed back home in Argentina. That’s clearly one of the benefits of playing for a club like Celtic who are known and respected worldwide.

As reported by Glasgow Times, according to reports in Argentina, Bernabei is being considered for their summer tour to Asia by Lionel Scaloni. They are set to play matches against Indonesia and China.

Bernabei has appeared for Argentine at youth level in the past. But it would be quite a leap up in terms of potentially playing for the world champions and appearing alongside the likes of Lionel Messi, Angel Di Maria and more.

It is believed that Scaloni is looking to bring in a few players with less international experience amongst his World Cup winning squad. And if he gets the chance, it would be a terrific experience for Bernabei and also encouragement for other Celtic players that international selection chances can be boosted when playing in Scotland.
