Celtic have had a lot of great managers over their history. Ange Postecoglou is certainly making his case to be included in that prestigious list, having guided the Hoops to a double last season and they are in the running for a treble this time around. And the fans will want to see him remain at Parkhead for as long as possible.

One former manager, who not many consider amongst the best though is Neil Lennon. The Northern Irishman spent two separate stints managing the Hoops and while he enjoyed plenty of success in terms of silverware, he was not considered the best man for the job by a large portion of the support.

The manner in which the 2020/21 campaign turned out left a bitter taste in the mouths of the fans for sure. With 10IAR up for grabs, Celtic failed to get out of first gear and finished the campaign 25 points behind the Rangers in the league, and trophyless. Lennon would leave his post in the middle of the season but by that point, all hope was over already.

Lennon would have a spell managing Omonia Nicosia as well. And while he enjoyed some success there as well, he did not last long in the hot seat.

Now, it looks like Lennon might be set to make an unexpected and stunning return to management. And Olympiakos seem to be interested in.

As reported by the Edinburgh News, Lennon’s representatives are due for talks with the Greek club Olympiakos in the next 72 hours.

Olympiakos are a huge club in their own right. They have won Super League Greece 47 times and the Greek Cup 28 times, both records. Thus, not many would have expected to see Lennon being linked with them, considering how his recent spells have turned out.
