There is an air of celebration around Parkhead at the moment. Celtic won their second straight league title, following their 2-0 win over Hearts away at Tynecastle Park at the weekend. They had already clinched the League Cup earlier in the season, and as a result, their eyes will be on a potential treble. They face Inverness CT in the Scottish Cup final next month at Hampden Park.
But before that, they still have four games to play in the league even though the title race is over. One of them is away at Ibrox against the Rangers.
It is a chance for the Hoops to go an entire season undefeated against the Rangers. They have won four Glasgow Derbies in this campaign till now, while drawing one.
They have been handed a fitness worry ahead of the Glasgow Derby though. It looks like Kyogo is an injury doubt for the game against the Rangers at Ibrox next weekend.
Celtic player is an injury doubt for game vs Rangers
Kyogo appeared to hurt his shoulder in the game against Hearts last weekend. And he was forced off the pitch soon after the incident, as it looked like he was struggling with it.
As reported by Glasgow Times, Ange Postecoglou said about the situation of Kyogo:
"“He hurt his shoulder a little bit. Hopefully, it’s not too bad. He’s had a few issues with it. We will just see and speak to the physios.”"
Kyogo did take part in the celebrations after the game at Tynecastle Park and then at Parkhead. Thus, that would suggest that his issue is not serious.
Whether he will be fit enough to start against the Rangers remains to be seen. Let’s hope he is because the Japanese forward is vital to this team and has scored 30 goals in this campaign already.
On the other hand, it might not be worth taking a risk considering there is still the Scottish Cup final to play and the league is wrapped up already. If Kyogo does not start against the Rangers, one would expect Oh Hyeon-gyu to get the nod. He scored against Hearts as well.
