Celtic have clinched the Premiership title for the second straight season. Goals from Kyogo and Oh Hyeon-gyu were enough to get a 2-0 win over Hearts away at Tynecastle Park and crown the Hoops the champions of Scotland once again. And it is safe to say that there is a celebratory mood amongst the fans, the players, the staff and everybody else associated with the club.
Of course, the job is yet not finished. There are still four league games left to be played before the Scottish Cup final against Inverness Caledonian Thistle next month.
This is not the time to think about that though. It is the time to celebrate, reflect and be grateful for all that has come this season. These are special moments and must be recognised as such.
One player who certainly played a key part in this league triumph is Jota. He was brought in on loan from Benfica last season before being signed on a permanent basis in the summer. And he has certainly proven his value to the team. Ange Postecoglou deserves a lot of credit for turning his career around as well, and the Portuguese winger had nothing but positive things to say about the manager.
Jota makes sensational claim about Celtic manager
As reported by 67 Hail Hail, Jota said about Postecoglou while speaking post-match on Sky Sports:
"“I think he is someone that wants to win, which is the most important thing in football.“But he wants to deliver good quality football, and that thing with our principles, I think, is the perfect combo. And yeah, just thrilled to be living in all of this and to be learning with an amazing coach.”"
Postecoglou has certainly done an incredible job since arriving at Celtic. It is hard to think of many, if any, managers who could have done better.
He has had a huge impact on the career of Jota as well. When Celtic signed him, things were not looking up for the Portuguese winger. He was very highly rated while coming through the youth ranks but had failed to establish himself at the senior level at Benfica, and while away on loan at Real Valladolid. He has proven to be an absolute superstar under the management of Postecoglou though.
