Brendan Rodgers enjoyed historic success during his time as the manager of Celtic. It was under his management that the Hoops became the treble-winning machine. But the Northern Irishman is not remembered fondly by the supporters because of the manner of his exit. He left in the middle of the season in early 2019 in order to join Leicester City. It goes without saying that that left a bitter taste in the mouths of the fans.

Rodgers was recently shown the exit door by Leicester City after a four-year run at the club. And he was in attendance, to see Celtic defeat the Rangers 1-0 at Hampden Park last weekend to book their place in the Scottish Cup final.

Of course, Celtic have a brilliant manager right now in the form of Ange Postecoglou. The Australian has put the club on the verge of a treble this season.

It looks like Postecoglou has been in contact with Rodgers from the very beginning of his time at Celtic Park and the Northern Irishman has been very supportive. As reported by Football Scotland, the Australian said:

"“He has sent me countless messages from the moment I was appointed and did send me a message that he would be at the game and wish me all the best. He’s been great and supportive of all we’ve done. He has been in this position and knows how special it is at this club to have success – and how hard you have to work to get it.“It was great to see him there and I’m sure I’ll catch up with him at some point.”"

It is unfortunate that Rodgers often does not get the credit that he deserves due to the nature of his exit. And it remains to be seen if the fans’ feelings towards him change in upcoming years.

It is good to see though that he has been supportive of Postecoglou throughout his run at Celtic Park. The Australian has been incredibly successful till now, guiding the Hoops to a Premiership and League Cup double last season when not many expected them to win a single trophy. This time around, a treble looks very much possible.

That success has seen Postecoglou being linked with a move to the Premier League as well. His recent comments do not suggest though that he is actively looking to leave in the summer.
