Kyogo sends clear message amid Celtic exit concerns
Kyogo has been incredible for Celtic ever since arriving from Vissel Kobe in the summer of 2021. It is funny to look back at that time now. A lot of fans were unsure what to make of the signing and many feared that he would struggle with the physicality of the Premiership. Almost two years on, and it is Scottish football that has struggled to deal with the Japanese star’s movement and eye for goal.
He has been scoring left, right and centre for Celtic this season and is one of the biggest reasons why they are in the running for a treble. He could very well be the best player in Scotland right now.
Of course, that kind of form has led to speculation about his future. There have been suggestions that clubs in the Premier League are interested in signing him. And it remains to be seen how things play out over the coming months.
Kyogo seems to be absolutely delighted with life at Celtic Park though. As reported by Football Scotland, he said:
"“I want to enjoy the games. We still have five games left and we want to enjoy it as much as we did in the past seasons.“While I’ve been here at the club, a lot of players have left and a lot of players have come in. I’m honoured to be able to stay at the club and play here.“As I said, I want to enjoy this day. I think it’s important not to stick with the idea of winning the titles. We think this is another game in the league. We will prepare and try to win the game.”"
Kyogo sends clear message amid Celtic exit concerns
It goes without saying that Kyogo has been absolutely fantastic this season for Celtic. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 29 goals and provided 5 assists in 44 appearances in the ongoing campaign.
Thus, it would be an understatement to say that he is very important to this team. One can only hope that he remains at Parkhead for the foreseeable future.
At Celtic, he is a fan favourite and if he can continue like this for some more years, he has the chance to go down as one of the club’s best ever players. His recent comments do not sound like that of someone actively looking to depart either. Of course, that is a huge positive although things can change quickly in football.
