Celtic have dominated Scottish football since Ange Postecoglou arrived at the club in the summer of 2021. Now, the important thing is that they continue this domination moving forward as well, and possibly even build upon it. A treble is possible this season but the job still needs to be finished. And the Hoops will surely be looking to improve when it comes to European competitions. That is the only area where they have struggled over the past two campaigns.

Thus, it is important that they strengthen the squad in the summer. At the same time, the club will have their eyes on some of their former players as well. Especially Kieran Tierney and Jeremie Frimpong, who could land them significant sell-on fees.

There seems to be a great update regarding the situation of Tierney. It looks like interest in his signature is increasing.

As reported by The Telegraph (via Football Scotland), Aston Villa are looking to challenge Newcastle United for the signature of Tierney in a deal that could land Celtic a hefty sell-on fee.

Of course, more teams joining the transfer race for Tierney is good news for Celtic. That is only expected to raise the potential fee that Arsenal can get out of his exit, and subsequently, the sell-on fee that the Hoops would receive.

There have been suggestions that Arsenal would look for a transfer fee north of £30 million to part ways with Tierney. They signed him for £25 million in the summer of 2019 from Celtic.

It just feels like the right time for Tierney to leave Arsenal. He has fallen down the pecking order in Mikel Arteta’s team in recent times. On the other hand, teams like Aston Villa and Newcastle United are on the rise and could be a great place for him to resurrect his career.
