Celtic have assembled a fantastic squad over the past four transfer windows under the management of Ange Postecoglou. During this period of time, they have pulled off one masterstroke after another. And they have reaped the benefits on the pitch, winning a double last season and are on the verge of a treble this time around.
Of course, those performances have meant that plenty of Celtic’s players have been linked with moves away from Parkhead. On the other hand, the club must also have an eye on improving their squad further this summer. They will surely want to improve in Europe, which has been the only shortcoming during Postecoglou’s run till now.
Thus, this summer transfer window can be very interesting for the Hoops. It remains to be seen who the club will sign, and who they will part ways with.
Amidst all this, Frank McAvennie has tipped three players to depart Parkhead. As reported by Football Insider, the former Celtic player said:
"“I do not think Mooy will be there next year.“I think he has done wonders for us but he is 32 now and I think he will be a bit-part.“I do not think Turnbull will be there next year, he will be playing a bit part.“I think O’Riley might move. There are players that are going to go and Ange will bring players in. O’Riley has stepped up again and has been playing well, he was awful for a few games but the manager has stood by him.“There is no question that he will bring players in and he has got an eye for a good player.“"
Celtic hero tips three players to leave the club this summer
Mooy has been a fantastic signing for Celtic and for a while, he was looking like the best player in the Premiership. He certainly has a role to play in the squad and it would be smart on the part of the club to keep him at Parkhead.
Yes, O’Riley did have an underwhelming run of form in the middle of the campaign. But now, he is back contributing once again and has made an impact in the big games recently, as he is back to being a starter.
Turnbull is the only one out of those three that Celtic could probably part ways with in the summer and not be significantly weakened. The Scottish midfielder certainly has his qualities but he has never looked like the right fit in Postecoglou’s system.
