Celtic have been excellent in recent times when it comes to their scouting. The club have been successful in identifying a number of players who have arrived at Parkhead and gone on to become household names. That is one of the biggest reasons behind the success that they have enjoyed under the management of Ange Postecoglou.
Celtic won a Premiership and League Cup double last season. And this time around, they are on the verge of winning a treble, having reached the Scottish Cup final recently following a 1-0 win over the Rangers at Hampden Park.
Thus, the fans have immense faith in the club when it comes to their scouting of players. And they were recently linked with Trinidad and Tobago international, Levi Garcia.
Garcia currently plays for AEK Athens and is enjoying a great campaign. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 18 goals and provided 6 assists in 34 appearance this season till now.
Celtic suffer blow as club want €15 million for target
Celtic have been handed a blow when it comes to a potential pursuit of Garcia though. And it has to do with the transfer fee that AEK Athens could be looking for in order to part ways with their star player.
As tweeted out by Giannis Chorianopoulos, AEK Athens want a €15 million transfer fee for Garcia:
Of course, that is a record figure for Celtic. And it is hard to see them shelling that kind of a transfer fee out to sign Garcia, who might not even be a starter if he arrived at Parkhead in the future.
It remains to be seen how things play out over the coming weeks and months. But at this point of time, it is hard to see Celtic making a move for Garcia, if AEK Athens indeed want a €15 million transfer fee for him.
