Celtic are on the verge of winning another treble. The Hoops booked their place in the final of the Scottish Cup with a 1-0 win over the Rangers. As things stand, the Ibrox club have lost four out of the five Glasgow Derbies this season till now, drawing the other one. A goal from Jota proved to be the difference on the day.

Of course, Daizen Maeda deserves immense credit for staying alert, when the entire Rangers defence had switched off. The Japanese forward put in a brilliant cross for Jota to head home the winner.

The win means that the Rangers are pretty much certain to go trophyless this season. On the other hand, a treble is very much on for Celtic. They have the League Cup in the bag, are one win away from winning the Premiership and are in the final of the Scottish Cup.

Of course, Chris Sutton is known for his cheeky remarks. And he took a dig at the Rangers after another Glasgow Derby defeat for Michael Beale’s side. The Celtic hero tweeted out:

Of course, the loss at Hampden Park leaves Beale in an interesting position. Yes, the Rangers were already in a bad position in the Premiership by the time he replaced Giovanni van Bronckhorst. But they have failed to deliver in both the Scottish Cup and the League Cup during the Englishman’s time in the hot seat.

The expectation is that he will get the summer transfer window. But there will be very little room for error for Beale next season.

Of course, Celtic will not be worried about the Ibrox situation. Their focus has to be on getting over the line in the Premiership. And then, they will have a Scottish Cup final to play against Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
