Celtic fans must be over the moon following their 1-0 win over the Rangers at Hampden Park this weekend in the Scottish Cup semi-final. A goal from Jota in the first half of the game proved to be the difference between the two teams. And the result means that the treble is well and truly on for Ange Postecoglou’s side.

They have already won League Cup. The Premiership looks like a matter of time as well, as they need just one win from their last five games in the league. And now, they have booked their place in the final of the Scottish Cup.

Of course, it is not all great news for Celtic. It is now confirmed that Cameron Carter-Vickers’ season is over and he will not be taking part in any more games in the ongoing campaign.

As reported by BBC, Postecoglou told BBC Scotland:

"“That’s Cam’s last game of the season.“He’ll go and get his injury looked at. We’ve got to be mindful of his recovery for next season.“He was really keen to play this game, I’m scared of him so I wasn’t going to say no.”"

Carter-Vickers has been a rock at the back for Celtic ever since he arrived at the club. And as a result, his injury absence will be a blow for them for sure.

His performance against the Rangers this weekend was brilliant to say the very least. He was the best player on the pitch and by some distance, as the Hoops kept a clean sheet against their Glasgow rivals.

It is even more remarkable that Carter-Vickers did it while carrying a fitness issue of his own. Now one can only hope that he is back fit and on the pitch soon.

The United States international is one of the most important players that Celtic have got at this point of time. It will be interesting to see how they do without him. Yuki Kobayashi is expected to come into the starting XI for the remaining games of the season. Best wishes and speedy recovery to Carter-Vickers.
