Scott Brown is one of the most decorated players in Celtic history. He guided the club to one trophy after another as captain and by the time he left, his arms must have been tried with lifting so much silverware. Of course, the circumstances around his exit were not the best by any means. He said his goodbyes inside an empty Parkhead and the Hoops finished trophyless that season, and 25 points behind the Rangers in the league when 10IAR was up for grabs.

That terrible season cannot take away from what Brown achieved during his time at Celtic though. He is a true legend of the club.

After leaving Celtic, he would join Aberdeen in a player-coach role but it was an unsuccessful spell that did not even last a complete season. Since then, he has retired from the game and taken his first steps in management.

He is showing a lot of promise as a manager as well. Fleetwood Town are 12th in League One at the moment. They had finished 20th last season. And they also had a great run in the FA Cup.

Celtic legend takes cheeky dig at Rangers

Brown recently appeared to take a cheeky dig at the Rangers. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, he said while speaking on The Go Radio Football Show:

"“Scotland’s top-flight is relentless.“Especially in Glasgow. Celtic, Rangers, You’ve got to make sure that you keep winning.“There’s a lot of players that come and can’t do that. Fantastic footballers but they don’t understand what it takes to be a Celtic player.“If you don’t win, it’s 60,000 fans on top of you. If you win, it’s 60,000 fans absolutely loving you. A lot of players struggle under the pressure. And a lot of players, especially when Covid came, shall we say another team did very well when there was no pressure.”"

Of course, the Rangers won the league title behind closed doors. While Celtic seemed to struggle without the fans, the Ibrox side certainly got better in that season.

The season has proven to be a one-off though as Celtic are back to their dominant selves once again. They won the double last season, a double looks certain in this campaign as well while a treble is still possible. They will be taking on the Rangers in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup at Hampden Park this weekend.
