Celtic will know the importance of the upcoming Scottish Cup semi-final clash against the Rangers at Hampden Park. The Hoops lost the same fixture last season and it stopped them from winning the treble. They have gotten another chance this time around, and the Hoops will surely be looking to rectify their mistake from the past.

Celtic go into the match on the back of a disappointing 1-1 draw against Motherwell at the weekend. On the other hand, the Rangers lost 2-0 at the hands of Aberdeen. Thus, both Glasgow giants were served wake up calls before the big game.

One would have to consider Celtic as the favourites to win this game but at the same time, form often goes out of the window in the Glasgow Derby. Still, it is worth pointing out that they have not lost one this season till now and will be hoping that that remains the case.

As reported by The Herald, while speaking to Celtic TV, Postecoglou said ahead of the upcoming Scottish Cup semi-final against Rangers:

"“It is going to be a really good game in terms of it having everything on it.“Both teams know the consequences of not being successful on the day so it will have everything you normally expect from a Cup semi-final and it is one we are looking forward to.“This time of year, they are all big games and you want to be involved in them instead of sitting home and watching them.“I am looking forward to it. We don’t need motivation for Sunday. It is always there. Every game we want to try and be the team we aspire to be.”"

It is safe to say that Celtic will need to bring their A-game to the Scottish Cup semi-final. It is expected to be a very tight game between to solid teams. The previous Glasgow Derby was close as well.

It remains to be seen how things will play out. But at the end of the day, if Celtic produce their best, they should have enough in the tank to win.

They cannot make the mistake of taking the Rangers lightly though. They have been in great form since the arrival of Michael Beale as manager as well, losing only three times. Twice against Celtic and once against Aberdeen. And they will know that this is their last chance to challenge for silverware this season.
