Michael Beale’s side suffered a defeat, a 2-0 loss at the hands of Aberdeen, right before taking on Celtic in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup, which is the most important game of the Rangers’ season. It is their last chance at some silverware as well as an opportunity to stop the Hoops from doing a treble.

One Celtic player was in the middle of it all, in the Rangers’ defeat vs Aberdeen. Liam Scales is currently on loan with the Dons.

Not only did he keep a clean sheet on the day but scored a world-class goal as well. Scales put the ball into the back of the Rangers’ net from way out. And most people watching felt that the Celtic loan star had gone for a cross rather than the goal.

Of course, Scales seemed in mood for a bit of fun after scoring what was arguably the biggest goal of his career till now. Aberdeen posted a short clip of him on Twitter:

Of course, Scales will be pretty happy with how his loan spell at Aberdeen has gone this season. And he has shown that he is capable of contributing for a big team in the Premiership.

Now, will that convert into minutes for Celtic in the upcoming season? Only time shall tell. Scales had shown quite a bit of quality for the Hoops last season as well, but was ultimately not able to win a place in the starting XI.

He has done his chances no harm with his performances for Aberdeen though. The Celtic player has been a starter for the Dons, as they sit at third, five points clear of Hearts. It has been a remarkable turnaround to their campaign, after they were struggling under the management of Jim Goodwin earlier.
