Michael Beale could do no wrong in the eyes of the Rangers fans just a few months ago. But after back to back defeats at the hands of Celtic, and their recent loss against Aberdeen, quite a few have raised their doubts about whether the Englishman is the right man for the job or not. Of course, they have improved since his arrival. But it is hard to remember a high pressure game that they have won.

It is safe to say that Beale still has a lot to prove, having just started his managerial career this season. And thus, the upcoming Scottish Cup semi final against Celtic could be a huge game for him and his future at Ibrox.

Of course, Beale has created quite a bit of controversy during his time in the Ibrox hot seat with some of his comments. One of them was about Ange Postecoglou being ‘lucky’.

It is safe to say that Celtic fans were not happy with it. And Chris Sutton appears to believe that Beale must regret saying it. As reported by Football Scotland, he said on The Overlap:

"“Michael Beale came in and had the quip about ‘Lucky Ange’. I suspect that right now, at this moment in time, he regrets saying that. I understand he has to come in and make his mark, and there’s that great rivalry, but I think he could have played things a bit differently.“And from things that he’s said in recent weeks, I think he’s watering things down a little bit. I think if you asked him privately, I suspect he’d regret coming in and trying to sort of big himself up.”"

Celtic hero sends blunt message about Beale’s claim

It will be interesting to see how the Rangers perform vs Celtic at Hampden Park, on the back of a loss at the hands of Aberdeen right before the match. Of course, the Hoops did not win at the weekend either, having drawn with Motherwell at home.

Thus, there are a lot of big talking points going into the match. There are a lot of questions, whose answers we will find out at the weekend.

It is also worth pointing out that Celtic lost the same fixture last time around. Thus, they will want to rectify that. And a potential treble will be a huge motivator as well.
