While Celtic might have been pulling off one transfer masterstroke after another during the time of Ange Postecoglou as the manager of the club, it is not that they were not capable of doing the same before the time of the Australian manager at Parkhead. In fact, the club have been known for signing highly-rated youngsters and turning them into household names for a long time now.

One of the best signings that Celtic have made in recent memory was that of Moussa Dembele. The Frenchman would go on to establish himself as an absolute superstar at Parkhead.

Many even believe that Dembele is the biggest natural talent that Celtic have had in a long time. His stint at Parkhead was relatively short though, as he would end up joining Lyon.

Dembele has achieved some big things at Lyon. But at the same time, his run with the French club has been up and down. And it is set to come to an end soon.

Celtic handed blow by Fabrizio Romano’s transfer update

As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, Dembele will leave Olympique Lyon as a free agent in the summer. A decision has been made and to be confirmed at the end of the season.

Of course, this will come as bad news for Celtic. That is because they were believed to have a sell-on clause in the deal for Dembele and not too long ago, the figure could have been significant as the Frenchman was being linked with clubs like Manchester United and Chelsea. At that point of time, he was a rated at a transfer fee north of £50 million.

But with him set to leave as a free agent in the summer, when his contract with Lyon runs out, Celtic are set to pocket nothing from his next move. We can only wish him the best though and hope he continues to succeed.
