Celtic fans were disappointed with their performance and result against Motherwell at the weekend, as they dropped points after a long time in a 1-1 draw at Parkhead. The mood must have been lifted though, as they saw the Rangers suffer a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Aberdeen. Even more importantly, the result comes the week before the two Glasgow giants meet at Hampden Park in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup.

Thus, things have taken a bit of a twist. Neither side is going into the game on the back of a win. And it will be interesting to see how they perform next weekend.

One has to admit that Celtic’s performances in recent weeks have been a bit shaky, as they are clearly missing some key players. Hopefully, they will be available next weekend to take on the Rangers.

On the other hand, the performance against Aberdeen would have been a blow for the Rangers for sure. It is worth pointing out that they have not won a single Glasgow Derby this season till now.

Beale did not seem happy with one of the decisions made by the ref in the game between the Rangers and Aberdeen. Interestingly, Boyd did not agree with the Rangers boss on this occasion.

As reported by Football Scotland, Boyd said while speaking from the Sky Sports studios:

"“He is maybe clutching at straws. There is a little tug there, but Sakala is away and it is a poor ball at the end of it. It is not a foul.”"

Of course, Celtic fans will remember the Rangers boss questioning some of the decisions in the recent Glasgow Derby as well, which the Hoops won. And after another loss, Beale has made similar comments.

None of this will matter when the two teams take on each other next weekend though. One can only hope that Celtic bring their A-game to Hampden Park and continue their winning run over the Rangers.
