Celtic have shown a great eye for identifying talent in recent seasons and that has proven to be one of the primary reasons behind the success that they have enjoyed on the pitch. They won the double last season, and a treble is still a possibility this time around. It looks like one of their transfer targets is headed for West Ham United though.

It is not just senior players that Celtic have looked to bring to Parkhead in recent times. They have had their eyes on some highly rated youngsters as well.

One who has been linked with them is Sean Moore, who is one of the biggest talents in Irish football at the moment. And while Celtic were interested in him, along with several other clubs, it looks like it is West Ham United who have won the race to sign the wonderkid.

As reported by Belfast Telegraph, Moore is set for a summer move to West Ham United. The deal is all but done.

That will be a blow to Celtic’s plans for sure because Moore is a top talent. At 17 years of age, he has already played quite a bit of football at the senior level for Cliftonville, providing both goals and assists.

Thus, it is not hard to see why there was so much interest in the prodigy. Other than Celtic and West Ham United, Newcastle United were linked with him as well. But it is the Hammers who have come out on top.

Of course, Celtic’s recent record of bringing through youngsters into the senior team has not been great. There have been some positive steps in that regard lately though, and the youth standouts like Rocco Vata and Ben Summers have been getting minutes on the pitch.
