Celtic want to sign German midfielder this summer
By StevieMac
Rumours indicate that Celtic are showing interest in a German midfield talent for a possible summer transfer move. The Hoops already have a number of good players and options in the middle of the park, but the club always look keen to strengthen further and plan ahead for cover should any of their existing stars move on.
Denis Huseinbasic is a 21-year-old now playing for FC Koln after signing for them last summer for a bargain €50,000 transfer fee. He is making a great impression for the German club.
He has also been capped twice by the German U21 side. He made his mark there by scoring in a 2-4 win in Italy on his debut in November of last year.
As reported by Bild (via Sport Witness), Celtic and Rangers are in the picture to sign Koln’s Huseinbasic.

With things seemingly going well since his move to Koln the question would be whether the player would be interested in such an early move. There are a few factors combining here which mean discussions on a deal could happen.
One issue for the player is that over half his matches have been as a substitute during the game. The opportunity to start and play more often could well influence a change for the youngster.
He looks to be a developing talent and as such will always be an attractive prospect for the Hoops. There are no guarantees for game time with the club either though. At the end of the day, the competition for places is very tough at Celtic right now, and they have an excellent midfield department.
Several young players have shown tremendous development under the management of Ange Postecoglou. Jota, Greg Taylor, Matt O’Riley and Reo Hatate are great examples. So that could make Celtic an attractive option for Huseinbasic as well.
