Celtic make contact to sign €5 million player this summer
Celtic have been excellent when it comes to identifying the right players to fit into Ange Postecoglou’s style of football. That is one of the biggest reasons why they have been so successful during the time of the Australian manager at the club. And now, it looks like a German midfielder has caught their eye.
Celtic have a very good midfield at this point of time. But the likes of Reo Hatate and Matt O’Riley are constantly linked with moves away. There are question marks about the future of David Turnbull as well, as he has struggled for playing time.
As a result, there is a possibility that the Hoops might need to bring in another midfielder in the summer. And a German youth international appears to be in their sights.
As reported by Sport Bild (via Daily Record), Celtic and Rangers are among the clubs who have reached out to Denis Huseinbasic’s representatives at the Profi Sports Prskalo agency. Interest is also expected from England and France.

Huseinbasic made the move to FC Koln just last summer for a transfer fee believed to be around €50,000. It is safe to say that things have sky rocketed for him since then.
While the youngster is not a regular starter for FC Koln yet, he has certainly impressed with his performances. And as a result, it is believed that the Bundesliga club could look for a figure around €5 million in order to part ways with the Germany youth international in the summer.
Would Celtic be willing to shell out that kind of a figure for a player with limited top level experience? Only time shall tell. But it is good see that the club are still looking to strengthen in the summer and are not resting on their laurels.
