Celtic have been a favourite destination of Premier League clubs, when it comes to swooping in and signing their players. We have seen this happen with both senior stars and youngsters coming up through the youth ranks. And it looks like it is Brighton & Hove Albion, who have their sights set on Parkhead this time around.

One complaint that Celtic fans have had in recent years is regarding the club’s inability to bring through their youth stars into the senior team. And while that has been a problem, the club have not been helped by the fact that so many of their best youngsters have left before ever making their mark at Parkhead.

Teams like Manchester City, Liverpool, Bayern Munich and more have swooped in to sign Celtic’s players in the past. And now, it looks like one of them could be headed to Brighton & Hove Albion.

As reported by Football Insider, Brighton & Hove Albion are increasingly confident of completing a deal for Ronan Ferns. They have submitted a six-figure bid for the centre-back and are now preparing a contract offer.

Ferns is just 16 years of age and very highly rated at Parkhead. But it looks like his long-term future lies away from the club.

Brighton & Hove Albion have shown an incredible eye for talent in recent years and that is one of the reasons behind their rise in the Premier League. And it looks like they might be on to another winner in the form of Ferns.

On the other hand, it is important that Celtic keep hold of their best youngsters and give them a chance at the first-team level. There have been positive steps in that direction this season, with quite a few of the club’s youth stars getting senior minutes off the bench.
